Dancing Near the Sun

Dancing Near the Sun

Well, today I ran. It was fine. There's not a whole lot to say really at this stage. I ran somewhere around 3 miles - I'm not totally sure about the distance as I didn't have my Forerunner with me. There was a little 'ping' in the sole of my right foot, then a 'pang' in my left chin which at this step in the process I recognize as my body trying to trick me into thinking there's a legit problem. There's not. It just needs to be beat up a little bit. I came back from the run and started reading a section in the Galloway book about training, shoes, speed work, etc. etc. At first it kind of got me psyched then I could feel my interest wane and I just put it down so it wouldn't spoil the experience of actually running! I'm thinking the Detroit 'half' might be my target race - or maybe Chicago has a 'half' also - probably full by now, but I'll check into it.

In the meantime - we've been going to the beach almost everyday - it's been so damn hot here - like the rest of the country so we just head to the shore.

I hope the Chicago race isn't full!

Did you say sorry because you checked for yourself and saw that Chicago is indeed closed? I figured it would be. They have over 40,000 runners just for the marathon so I had no illusions about definitely getting into a half (assuming they even have one!). Oh well - we kind of wanted Detroit to be our first half anyway. :)

Thanks about the title Chrissy - if you look at the large photo on Flickr - you can see a girl on the right of the picture in a great dance pose.
